Sometimes you go to a competition, you do your best, and you still don’t win. Want to know why? Let’s take look at a few probable reasons:
1. Judges didn’t see your number

2. Judges didn’t see you

3. Judges didn’t recognize you

4. Judges didn’t like your dress [shirt, shoes, costume, toenail polish color]

5. Judges didn’t like your style

6. This was a “Feet” judging panel and you have a good topline, but only okay footwork

7. Someone looked the part with better fitness [makeup, hair, costume]

8. Other couple took coaching with most judges

9. Your choreography was too easy

10. Your choreography was too complicated.

11. Other couple was legitimately better than you

12. You weren’t as “clean” as the other couple

13. You didn’t smile…

14. You didn’t make eye contact with the judges

15. You made too much eye contact with the judges

16. You didn’t perform enough

17. You performed too much

18. Rule 11 – The results were really close and anyone could have won. You just got unlucky…

In the end, dance competitions are there to make you a stronger dancer. Wether you win or not, you are much better dancer already! So, don’t feel bad, cheer up, and blast it on your next one.
