If life was “perfect”, every ballroom dancer would have a “Honeybun” who loves to dance, and the two of you would be perfectly matched in every way. But life isn’t perfect, it is interesting and challenging, which means that sometimes you and your non-dancing Pumpkin might be at opposites ends of dance obsession.
As odd as it may seem, some people take a while to get into dancing, some only go as far as watching DWTS, and a few poor souls don’t get it at all. Even if they don’t have the ballroom spark, their lives can still be full and wonderful because they have you! Just a few points on how awesome that can be:
1. You’ve got Glam!
You can be natural in shorts and sweats one minute, and in the next minute (or 2 hours), with just a small trunk full of make-up, hair stuff and rhinestone gear, you can make any Hollywood Oscar winner, Las Vegas performer or 18th century regal look pretty dowdy.
2. You’ve got a Rockin’ Body!
If you dance, your body is better than if you didn’t. Period. Sure you could do another type of exercise but would you really? Even if you would, or you already do other types of exercise, dancing works all the best looking muscles, and makes you more flexible in the best ways. With that, it is pretty much guaranteed that you look better than you otherwise would, and your Lover Lips loves it.
3. You go out Dancing with other Men/Women.
Well, perhaps this might not seem that awesome to your Boo Boo at first, but it is! You understand that as scintillating or romantic as a dance can be, it is just a dance. And more importantly, that your love of dancing, and you appreciation of those you dance with, doesn’t change the love between the two of you. It is actually the opposite. That fact that you have a Snookums that understands your need and obsession, makes them seem that much more awesome to you. On the other hand anything or anyone that gets in the way of your dancing would probably not get much of that loving feeling from you ….jus sayin’.
4. You’ve got an adventurous spirit.
When you dance, you are putting yourself out there. You can’t hide behind anything or anyone else. That makes you pretty amazing. Yes, perhaps that ebay costume in electric orange spandex, with dark green sequins and red feathers was a bit of a miss, but who cares! It didn’t stop you. Neither did falling on those adjudicators when one of your early attempts at a triple turn with a ronde ending did not work out so well. Your passion is still strong and you are always ready for more. Who knows where that attitude can take the two of you as a couple, but it will certainly be fun for the two of you to find out.
5. Their Friends are Intrigued by You.
I have yet to know of anyone who isn’t silently gloating when mentioning that their Love Bug is a dancer. On the other had, saying that your Cheeze Doodle loves bowling rarely gets the same reaction, even as hot as some bowlers are.
6. You’re Determined!
Dancing is liberating, but dancing is not as easy as it might seem to some. Sticking with it shows that you have conviction. You know what you want and you stay with it. That should feel pretty good to the Sweet Cheeks that you are with, since you chose to be with them.
7. You’ve got Moves, you’ve got Passion, and you know How to Connect.
Yup. That’s you, and your Gladiator/Goddess knows it. Need I say more?
